In Minamata a small country town Kumamoto prefecture, Japan in 1956 the Minamata disease was discovered by Dr Hajime Hosokawa the Chisso Corporation’s doctor. The Chisso Corporation was a factory that made fertilizer and plastic. The Minamata disease was made by the Chisso Corporation disposing their chemicals in correctly. The chemicals are poisonous to the human body and killed lots of people because they eat fish, shell fish and lots more other kinds of other fish which was usually in there diet. The Chisso Corporation dumped lots of mercury and other chemicals in to the Minamata bay, which is connected to the sea because fish live in the sea and the sea. The fish had eaten the chemicals thinking it was food and because the people had eaten the fish the people had bean infected with having the Minamata disease from having chemicals in there body that is a dangers.
The Minamata disease had bean going for over 30 years and the government and company (Chisso Corporation) did very little to stop poisoning and pollution of the earth and poisoning of the body with the chemicals and making Minamata disease.
